Dan's youthful dream was a career in aviation but was placed on hold while gaining an education and entering the business world. Although Dan's formal education was at Florida State University and the University of Massachusetts, serving in the armed forces and actively participating in team sports developed lifelong disciplines.
Dan entered corporate America at a grassroots level as computers were being developed. As a district manger with Marketing Consultants International (Marcoin, Inc.) Dan was responsible for 21 business consulting offices in 10 western states. Dan also conducted business management classes at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
Experience in consumer finance, business consulting and business ownership laid the "groundwork" to enter the financial services world. In 1984 Dan began his financial planning career initially in financial institutions gaining his CFP credentials in 1989 and being appointed as President of 1st Capital Services, Inc. in Alamance County. Dan served on the Small Business Committee with the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce.
Over the years Dan has been greatly rewarded observing his clients becoming financially independent. Also his dream of flying is a reality as a private pilot and airplane owner since 1992.
Dan along with his longtime associates Jane Scott and John Bellingham formed HBS Financial Advisors in 2006 and enjoy a successful practice in Alamance County.
